Suggested Readings

For the Month of April 2016

For newcomers to the site,

I will be posting books that I read during the previous month. The majority of my reads are counseling, fitness, or evolutionary based. Many of them add to my theoretical approach in holistic psychotherapy, however a few recreational fiction books creep in from time to time. I hope everyone enjoys my suggestions, and if you have any questions about a particular title please feel free to contact me.

Featured Book of the Month

The War of Art

Break Through the Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles

By Steven Pressfield

Warning: Once you pick this book up, it is very hard to put down! I read it in two sittings. It is targeted toward aspiring authors but would translate well to any career minded entrepreneur, musician, athlete, heck, anyone who ever set a goal and wants to achieve the goal. The author is excellent in defining creative resistance and giving the proverbial kick in the butt that you may need to do whatever you have set out to do. I recommend this book to almost everyone I talk to and have used excerpts in classes with middle school and college students.
